Gwyn spent many years working in The Netherlands, Hong Kong and Switzerland creating and running IT professional services consulting organisations across Europe, Middle East, Far East and Africa delivering IT and Business Continuity professional services. Since 2007 he has focused on exploring and promoting the sustainability of organisations and people as citizens, members of communities, and leaders in organisations.
As a Board member of the Association of Sustainability Practitioners (ASP) Leadership team Gwyn focusses on social enterprise and social entrepreneurship and leads ASP’s “Purpose-Led Enterprise” initiative.
Gwyn has been instrumental in creating several organisations focused on different aspects of sustainability including co-founding Bournemouth University's Social Entrepreneurs Forum, (BUSEF) and Responsible Project Management initiative, CEO of GACSO (Global Association of Corporate Sustainability Officers) and Chair and Founder of Resilient Dorset, a group of senior NGO and Council leaders promoting the adoption of social value and natural capital.
He has been actively supporting various businesses that promote sustainable developments in business and society including creating a new Executive Board for Riversimple, being an Ambassador for Better Points, a behaviour change technology company, targeting Local Authorities’ and NHS Trusts’ health and wellbeing and sustainable transport initiatives and recently as Sustainability Adviser creating the "heart and soul" foundation (Purpose, Stakeholder Benefit Streams and Values) for a fledgling global environmental television and media company.
For several years Gwyn has supported the Bournemouth University Faculty of Management as a lecturer in global sustainability, social enterprise and responsible project management. In addition Gwyn has delivered lectures at Cardiff Business School, Hertfordshire University, Plymouth University Management School and advised Anglia Ruskin University on the proposed MSc in sustainability.
Gwyn is also an active member of several local community groups, including Transition Town, supporting local social enterprises, projects and other initiatives that serve the community.
